We made these for the Superbowl and of course they were a hit........seriously, think about it.....a house full of men/boys, meat, BBQ sauce, grape jelly........what's not to like? I have done with both the frozen meatballs and by making my own meatballs and of course they are great. The frozen ones are really good if you need a last minute appetizer for a large crowd since you can just dump them out of the bag frozen into the crock pot and they are all the same size (when I make homemade meatballs they unfortunately come out in different sizes and do not appear uniform).
Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
1 1/2 cups fresh bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 eggs
1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce
1 cup grape jelly
(can substitute first 6 ingredients with frozen meatballs)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
In a large bowl, combine the beef, bread, onion, milk, salt and eggs. Shape into little meatballs, about 1 inch in size. Place the meatballs into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes.
(If using frozen meatballs, start here)
Put meatballs in crock pot and pour barbecue sauce and jelly over the meatballs
Cook on low for 35 minutes (or if using frozen meatballs, cook on low until meatballs are completely cooked through).
